REVIEW: Papa Roach 'Face Everything and Rise' / 'Warriors'

Papa Roach
'Face Everything and Rise / Warriors'
F.E.A.R. (2015)

The American rockers Papa Roach announced a new album to be released in late January, 2015. The band has revealed two tracks — "Face Everything and Rise" and "Warriors", from their upcoming 9th album.

You can't really judge an album fairly when you've heard only two songs. But for now — these two singles sound... decent.

"Face Everything and Rise"

The first track of the soon-released F.E.A.R. brings the newly established Papa Roach sound from The Connection — heavy, catchy electronic rock. But even if it is a nice song, id does sound a bit too similar to the previous album.

The single just doesn't sound... exciting. It bears the same feeling as the previous album. The chorus is catchy, has a heavy sound, but that's about it.

It just doesn't have that sort of excitement I felt, when listening to The Connection.

"Warriors"

The 10th track of the upcoming album, again, doesn't bring anything new to the table. It has an extreme similarity to "Face Everything and Rise" as well as the previous album.

Simple, melodious chorus and interesting electronic additions to the song is the two things that I can point out about the song itself. Other than that, it's hard to say anything else.

Overall

The two released songs from the 2015's F.E.A.R., to be completely honest, didn't get me all that pumped for the new album. The tracks so far doesn't have that 'something' which Papa Roach brought with The Connection.

But, I am hopeful that the rest of 10 tracks in F.E.A.R. will be a bit more diverse than what I've heard so far.
